Our

CONSERVATION COMMITMENT

Conserving the remote places and amazing wildlife of Africa and to helping its people to thrive is at the heart of Wildscapes Travel. We also strongly prefer to use safari camps and lodges which have effective conservation programs and which operate in collaboration with surrounding communities.

By making bold, and often pioneering, investments into areas that are ecologically and economically vulnerable, we aim to turn these areas into viable conservation economies, benefitting both the local communities as well as the environment.

We acknowledge that people and nature are inseparable partners, so we work closely with communities, authorities, NGOs and industry partners to achieve the best possible long-term outcomes for all concerned.

With the help of our valued clients, your contributions are MATCHED by Wildscapes Travel that help us make the most significant positive impact towards our goal of empowering these areas, including the communities and wildlife that call them home.

The Banovich Wildscapes Foundation is a nonprofit (501c3) organization fostering cooperative efforts to conserve the earth's wildlife and wild places benefiting the wildlife and the people that live there.

We accomplish this in 3 ways:

  1. Protection of large conservation landscapes.

  2. Support of important scientific research.

  3. Supporting sustainable community development in wildlife areas.

Founded in 2007 by John Banovich, BWF is the culmination of tireless conservation efforts over the past three decades. Through his career as an artist, Banovich has inspired a deeper understanding of the world and its wildlife, encouraging successful conservation efforts and awareness of endangered species and their habitats. Traveling across the world seeking inspiration for his work, John has utilized these opportunities to research wildlife and to learn about associated conservation challenges at the local, regional, and national levels.

Through his career, artwork and his publishing company, Banovich Art, Banovich has developed effective ways to help implement and support conservation programs and is utilizing his paintings and creative energies to promote a message of wildlife preservation and to initiate real change - BWF is making a difference.

“I started the Banovich Wildscapes Foundation as a way to give something back to the world that has given so much to me. The name WILDSCAPES refers to large abundant landscapes…wild, balanced and intact ecosystems teaming with wildlife. There is nothing more important to future generations than wildlife and wild lands. Special places that lift our minds, replenish our spirits and renew our passion for living."
